Luke Haynie, 83, of Atmore, passed away March 9, 2019 in Atmore.

He was born in Eclectic on Dec. 11, 1935 to the late Lehman and LaRue Ward Haynie. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore and was a retired Prison Guard from Fountain Correctional Facility. He was a graduate of Troy University.

His parents; wife, Levice Marie Haynie; and two sisters precede him in death.

He is survived by his step-daughters, Mia Evatt (Jason Stoutamire) of Atmore and Tya (David) Hotelling of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Letah (Nathan) Bishop and Dorian Stoutamire; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Thurs., March 14, 2019, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Garrett officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until the service time at 3 p.m. March 14, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
