Byron Delbert Tims, 91, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away on Sat., Feb. 23, 2019, in Atmore.

He had worked in Retain Sale’s for Fred’s Department Store, born on Aug. 28, 1927, in Riderwood, to the late Odie Mancel and Rilla Ruller Tims. He served in the U.S. Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vernell Kimbro Tims; grandson, Randall Helton; and sister, Almogene Culpepper.

Survivors are two sons, Dale Tims of Virginia Beach, Va. and Clark (Debra) Tims of Robertsdale; one daughter, Michelle Helton of Oak Grove, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. this Sat., March 23, 2019, from Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Butch Brown officiating.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
