Dorothy C. Allen, 90, of Atmore, passed away on May 4, 2019, in Atmore.

She was born to the late Lewie D. and Mattie Dixon Cobb on May 11, 1928, in Daleville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Dewitt Allen; and two brothers, Lonnie Allen Cobb and Dr. James Ray Cobb.

She served along side her husband for many years in the ministry as a church secretary, and she was a mother to many and a friend to all.

She is survived by her son, Schuyler Dewitt Allen of Atmore; and a granddaughter, Jenifer Allen (John) Blanton of Atmore; and two great-grandchildren, John Aaron Blanton and Kyle Allen Blanton, both of Atmore.

Funeral services will be held today, Wed., May 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Schuyler Dewitt Allen officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mobile.

Visitation was held May 7 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Gideons for Bibles in memory of Mrs. Dorothy C. Allen.
