During 64 years of marriage, their immense adoration for each other grew until his passing in April. A devoted wife and loving mother of four children, she traveled across the country with a willing, adventurous spirit until David retired from the Navy. Then they decided to return to East Brewton for their retirement.

She was the perfect officer’s wife; a natural leader; and gracious hostess.

She was kind, intelligent and a wonderful mother. She was successful in making each of her children feel special and loved and we knew we could always count on her if we needed help or advice. She was the Mom who would drive all of her children and their friends to the pool on hot summer days.

In addition to her duties as a Navy wife, a mother of four and a career with civil service, she made time to volunteer with several organizations.  She worked with the Cub Scouts, organized a library for our elementary school and volunteered with the Navy Relief Society. As a member of the Escambia County Historical Society, she served as president. Her loving, compassionate nature will be missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Elliott; a son, David P. Elliott; and her parents, William W. Weaver Jr. and Jessie E. Evans Weaver.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynne E. (Mark) Haller; two sons, Thomas W. (Danila) Elliott, and Robert B. (Betty) Elliott; a brother, Raymond L. Weaver; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home today, Wed., July 10, 2019, at 9 a.m. with Jennifer Mawhinney officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery.

Visitation was held at Craver’s Funeral Home on July 9.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Escambia County Historical Society,

Brewton.
