Officials said they are planning on between 800-1,000 attendees participating in the fifth annual Unity in the Community Festival on July 27, at Grace Fellowship in Atmore.
This year, Grace, along with the Concerned Citizens of Atmore, are partnering together to hold the festival. The festival is a free day for families in the Atmore community to come and encourage education among children and parents.

“We hold this every year because there is a need every year for our children in the community to have the best chance to be prepared for school, but also to educate parents that there are a lot of wonderful organizations and resources that can help them in parenting and family life, and to give the best start they can,” Coordinator Ruth Robinson said.

Participants earn vouchers for free school uniforms and school supplies by talking with representatives from different services that are provided by the Atmore community, including the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Women’s Resource Center, Atmore Public Library, Atmore Area YMCA and others. Robinson said parents must visit 15 booths to get supplies.

Robinson said participants have to be at the event no later than 1 p.m. to be eligible for supplies and uniforms.

A free lunch, carnival and professional Christian entertainment will also be provided. Robinson said Joseph Young, a Christian illusionist and Reno’s Reptiles will be present.

Donations can be made out to and sent to Grace Fellowship with UCF on the memo line. The mailing address for Grace Fellowship is 1412 E. Nashville Ave., Atmore, AL 36502. Or donations can be dropped off by the church, Robinson said.
