Nancy Lora Coleman Lane, born June 14, 1943, was called home on June 20, 2019.
Born in Pensacola, Fla., she spent former years in Durant, Miss., where she was an extra in the movie, “Ode to Billy Joe.”
She also lived in Louisville, Ky., where all three of her children attended school, and then in her later years she lived in Atmore.
Nancy attended and was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She spent years as a seamstress and homemaker.
Nancy was known by those around her as funny, loving and outspoken. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and friends, dancing and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby (Christina) Lane, Dal (Lucy) Lane, and Alton Lane; five grandchildren; and her special friend, Debbie McKinley.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sister, Virginia Coleman; brothers, John Bob and Kenneth Coleman; and son, Kimball Shay.
Beloved mother and grandmother, Nancy Laura Coleman Lane, will be remembered for the immense love she had for her grandchildren and three sons, being the life of the party, always being a dear friend to those who accompanied her and always wearing a smile.
She will be greatly missed. It is asked that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of grieving.
There will be a private memorial service held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3564 Butler Street, Atmore. A gathering of family and close friends will follow at a later time.
