Flomaton still No. 1 in 3A; Escambia Academy, T.R. Miller receive votes

One new Escambia County football team is in the Top 10 of the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll, which was released today.

After defeating then No. 5 Hillcrest-Evergreen 19-15 on Sept. 13, Escambia County (3-0) garnered enough votes to be ranked at No. 9 in the Class 4A poll, ahead of a No. 10 tie between Headland and Oneonta.

ECHS visits Class 4A, Region 1 opponent W.S. Neal this Friday before taking on Class 3A’s top-ranked Flomaton (3-0) on Sept. 27 in Hurricane Country.

T.R. Miller (3-0) and Escambia Academy (1-2) also received votes in this week’s poll.
