Northview fights back, tops North Bay Haven 36-25

Northview fought back from a 13-0 deficit early and beat North Bay Haven 36-25 in Panama City, Fla. Friday night.

The Chiefs were led by senior running back Trent Peebles, who had 203 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Aunterio Minor added 63 yards on eight carries, including a 70-yard kick off return for a touchdown; and Jamarcus Jefferson scored his first career touchdown at NHS. Ben Wilson threw a 65-yard strike to Logan Bryan for his first score of the season. Jaheem Durant added five carries for 64 yards.

“We dug ourselves in a hole, but our team was so resilient,” NHS head football coach Derek Marshman said. “We were down with a bunch of injuries, down three starters which put us at six.”

T.R. Miller 31, Hillcrest-Evergreen 21

Narkavis Campbell rushed for 121 yards on 16 carries and scored one touchdown; and Kevon Samuel rushed for 86 yards on 20 carries and a score as the Tigers topped Class 4A’s Hillcrest-Evergreen Friday.

Orlando Gandy added 53 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown, and returned a fumble 77 yards to the house with more than 4 minutes left in the game.
