Two teams with contrasting styles of offense will meet this Friday night as Northview faces South Walton in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

The Chiefs are a running team, while the Seahawks center more passing.

“It’s going to be a two contrasting styles in more ways than one,” NHS head football coach Derek Marshman said. “Football speaking, they like to spread it out and try to create match ups in the perimeter. They hang their hat on throwing the football.

“It’s going to be interesting to see the two different styles,” he said. “South Walton is playing good football right now, and they are on a three-game win streak.”

NHS (4-2) is also on a three game win streak after last week’s 52-30 victory over Walton. In the game, Marshman said official stats indicate that the Chiefs rushed the ball 559 yards, four yards shy of a school record.

In last week’s win, Jayden Jackson rushed for 201 yards to lead the team; Trent Peebles added 192 yards; and Jaheem Durant contributed with 115 yards. Durant had 5 tackles, and Jacob Hawkins added 6 tackles during the win.

For South Walton, the Seahawks’ offense rolls around quarterback Drake Roberts, and receivers Jim Allen and Cade Roberts.

Drake Roberts has accumulated 1,348 yards and is 112-of-168 with eight touchdowns. Allen 608 yards receiving and four touchdown, and Cade Roberts 382 yards receiving.

Marshman said the best way to stop all three is to keep them off the field.

“Fortunately, we like to run the football,” he said. “We hope to have success and eat the clock. They’re very prolific on offense, and they’re very difficult to defend. I think we can help our defense out by keeping them off the field.”

Marshman added that keeping Drake Roberts uncomfortable in the box will go a long way during the game.
