Every day, I take the same route to work.
Down Medical Park Drive, take a left onto Horner Street and then a right down Pensacola Avenue before turning left onto Owens Street.
And every October, there’s a house on Horner Street that goes all out for Halloween.
Every year, there’s usually a smattering of ghouls and ghosts, skeletons and inflatables of all kinds. This same house decorates for Christmas and other holidays as well.
But this year, I have taken note every time I pass the house.
Why?
Because the scene changes.
The other day I noticed a more than 6-foot tall ghoulish inflatable standing over a skeleton on a bench. I believe it was a bench, I only had a few seconds to notice.
Then, the next day, I noticed the same ghoul getting closer to said skeleton.
On Tuesday, as I made my way to work, I noticed the same ghoul right on top of the skeleton. Did the wind do that or the recent rains weigh the inflatable down?
Who knows?
But all I know is that I really enjoy looking at the scene every day.
Pretty soon, it’ll ready for Christmas, and then a whole new season of changes will commence.
