Northview won its sixth straight Friday with a 40-7 victory over Jay, Fla. on the road.

The Chiefs struggled at first as JHS tried to keep their offense off balance, but the scales tipped in favor of NHS soon after.

NHS led 14-0 at halftime after only running 14 plays in the first 24 minutes, head coach Derek Marshman said.

NHS had the ball three times in the second half, Marshman said.

The Chiefs led 33-0 at the end of the third quarter, and JHS scored a late touchdown.

Northview’s Jayden Jackson scored two rushing touchdowns and had a punt return for a score. Damerion Findley, Jaheem Durant and Trent Peebles added one touchdown run each.

“We played really well,” Marshman said. “That was the second straight game they put a running clock on the board.”

Marshman said the boys are jelling together, and hopes that the Chiefs have many more ahead of them.

As of this week, the Chiefs are the No. 2 seed. If they stay the No. 2 seed, they’ll have a bye next week in the playoffs, and will host on Nov. 15. If NHS is a No. 3 seed, it will host next week either Jay or Holmes County.
