Thornwell S. Lee, 87, of Atmore, passed away November 6, 2019 in Fairhope.

He was born to the late Edward and Mary Marsh Lee in Camden, S.C. on January 2, 1932.

He served in the United States Army and was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in forestry.

He was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church.

He was a forester most of his life and retired from International Paper Co. and the State of Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alva Kennedy; and a brother, Edward Lee, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee of Atmore; two daughters, Cynthia (Roy) Munger of Spanish Fort and Candy (Pierre) Bustany of France; and three grandchildren, Alan, Lee and Robert.

Memorial services will be held this Friday, November 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. from the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Lee officiating.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
