ECHS to host county tourney this week

Escambia County’s Trevon Lambert and Sheldon Williams made some essential buckets late to help lead the Blue Devils to a 51-48 victory over Baldwin County on Dec. 7 in Atmore.

The Blue Devils outscored BCHS 31-21 in the second half after falling behind 27-18 at the break.

Williams led ECHS with 19 points, and Lambert contributed with 11 points. Allen Patterson had 10 points, Jalen Barnes added six.

In girls action, ECHS won 49-47.

C’Anna Betts led the Lady Blue Devils with 28 points. Jayla Adams add 16.

Adams hit two free throws with 5.5 seconds left and ECHS held on late in the victory.

Beginning tomorrow, Escambia County will host the county basketball tournament.
