Mrs. Ella Ruth Elliott, 79, of East Brewton (Boykin Community), answered the master’s call on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019 at Westgate Village Nursing Home.

A native of Brewton, Mrs. Elliott attended school in the Boykin Community. She was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she had served as a deaconess, matron and an usher. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, growing flowers and going to church.

Those left to cherish precious memories of her life are her loving and devoted husband, Eddie Lee Elliott of East Brewton; three daughters, Ester (Dorsey) Stallworth-Williams of California, Tangela (Arizona) Gamble of East Brewton and Valerie Williams of Brewton; two sons, Eddie Lee (Shirley) Elliott and Bob (Bernita) Elliott, both of Brewton; a sister, Annette Jenkins of Detroit, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

A funeral service was held Sat., Jan. 4, 2020 at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Boykin Community) with the Rev. Thomas Broughton, pastor, and the Rev. Danny Benjamin, eulogist. Retirement of her remains was in Greater Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
