EA tips off against Autauga at noon tomorro

Escambia Academy’s junior varsity boys basketball team is the No. 1 seed going into tomorrow’s state tournament at Lowndes Academy.

The Cougars defeated Clarke Prep 41-27 Thursday night to improve to 8-1 overall, and 3-0 in AISA Class 2A, Region 2, Area 2. The win gave them a top-seed berth in the tournament.

EA plays Autauga Academy at noon tomorrow in the quarterfinals. The semifinals tip off at 3 p.m. against the winner of Edgewood and Pickens.

Patrician and Lowndes play at 9 a.m., and Coosa tips off against Hooper at 1 p.m. on the other side of the bracket.

The championship is at 7 p.m.

In varsity action on Thursday, the Cougars won 78-55 and improve to 11-5 overall, and 2-1 in the region. EA tips off against Patrician at home tonight.
