IDB board meets, discusses ‘interested’ development
The Atmore Industrial Development Board met for the first time in three years on Jan. 22 at city hall.
The last time the board met was to usher in Brown Precision Inc., a manufacturing facility at the Rivercane Development.
Boardmembers Sharon Faircloth, Richard Maxwell, Ullysses McBride, Bob Jones and Jim Johnson (over telephone) were present for the meeting, along with Coastal Gateway Associate Director Jess Nicholas and Alex Jones. Alex Jones served as a financial consultant for the meeting.
“We’re going to discuss somebody that’s interested in Atmore,” Maxwell said.
Once Maxwell called the meeting to order, the board went into executive session at 3:28 p.m. The board adjourned out of executive session approximately 45 minutes later.
Nicholas said the board is excited about a new project that interested into coming into Atmore.
