Mr. Rudy Clay Cooper, 56, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at his home in Bay Minette.

Mr. Cooper was a native of Bay Minette, former resident of Loxley and had resided in Bay Minette for the past 20 years. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Rabun.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howell Rudolph Cooper; grandmother, Bessie Lee Christian; and brother, Vincent Ray Cooper.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Elizabeth Cooper of Bay Minette; wife of seven years, Debbie Cooper of Bay Minette; children, Tori (Dan) Reed of Bay Minette, Dallas Durant of Bay Minette, Leslie Boutwell of Uriah, Patrick Heuer of Mobile and Shannon Boutwell of Uriah; step-daughters, Devin (William) Robertson of Perdido and Brittany (Trey) Dueitt of Bay Minette; sibilings, Howell Slay (Rhonda) Cooper of Bay Minette, Tracy Jean (Johnny) Brown of Perdido, Stacy Lynn (Angel) Cooper of Bay Minette, Cody Lee Cooper of Bay Minette and Carlos Wade Cooper of Bay Minette; 29 grandkids; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Stapleton Church of God with Bro. J.P. Lambert and Bro. Doug Armentrout officiating.

Burial followed at the Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Visitation was held February 25 at the Stapleton Church of God.

Pallbearers were Tyler Vinson, Josh Vinson, Tony Buxton, Shawn Cooper, Michael Cooper, Matthew Cooper and Casey Cooper.

Honorary pallbearer was Robert “Bobby” Gardner.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
