Eleanor A. Smoke of Mobile, was born on December 10, 1947, and transitioned to eternal rest on Thurs., February 6, 2020.

Eleanor attended Central High School, and she worked at the Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile, where she retired after 13 years.

She loved life and continued doing her favorite things, like cooking, cleaning and taking care of everyone that was in need of a helping hand.

Eleanor was a very devoted mother and a member of Greater Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dixon and Freddie Mae Richardson; one sister, Ethel White; and four brothers, General Laffitte, Antonio Dinkins, Lenova Dinkins and Sterling Coleman Jr.

Eleanor leaves to cherish her memories three children, Tawana White, Cleveland E Smoke JV and most devoted Julian D. Coleman; devoted partner, Dobie Hart; grandchildren, Ethel Q. White, most devoted Kaylashia Smoke, Cleveland Smoke, Cletavion Smoke, Jadarrius Smoke; great-grandchildren, Sa’Vion White, Cali White, Keyshaun Malone, Malakai White; sisters, Larnell Arnold, Melinda Howard, Gigi (Carlos) Howard, most devoted Angelina Steward; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service was held Feb. 22, 2020, at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church in Mobile with Elder Ralph Tolbert presiding.

Interment was held in Whispering Pines Cemetery in Eight Mile.

Mayberry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
