Mr. John R. “Johnny” Broughton, 55, passed away on Sunday, March 8 2020, at his home in Bay Minette. 

Mr. Broughton was a native and lifelong resident of Bay Minette. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his biological mother, Margaret Benton; father, John Robert Rice; brother, Timmy Broughton; and sister, Donna Broughton Taylor. 

He is survived by his wife, Shona Chastang of Whitehouse Fork; two sons, John (Megan) Broughton Jr. of Foley and Cody (Michelle) Broughton of Robertsdale; two daughters, Chassity Broughton Richardson of Mississippi and Jessica (Nicholas) Froseth of Mobile; one brother, Sean (Stephanie) Rice of Bay Minette; one sister, Teri Benton of Elberta; and nine grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Wanda Hadley officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Johnson Cemetery.

Visitation was held March 10, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Mayo, Trent Froseth, Lavon Taylor, Addison Hill, Charlie Mosley, Sean Rice and Melvin Rich.
