Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The other night, I finished reading a book, which is something I haven’t done in quite a while.

This book, “Under the Black Hat: My Life in the WWE and Beyond,” chronicled Hall of Fame commentator Jim Ross’s (J.R.) journey through the wrestling world in the latter part of his career.

At present, Ross is a commentator for AEWrestling’s TNT show, Dynamite.

It took me a couple days to finish reading the book after starting it last weekend.

But, as I got lost in Ross’s world, I kept thinking back on when I read the Harry Potter books.

While reading “Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban,” I experienced something that I had never felt before: the need to read.

You know when you’re reading a book and you get zoned into the story and just can’t look away?

That’s how I felt then and it became even more true as I went through my latest read.

When I finished Ross’s book, I sat back and was thankful because of the time that has been given me.

Yes, these are uncertain times with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to dictate our lives on a daily basis.

But do you think you would’ve been able to complete those tasks that have been waiting to be done, or that book that’s been sitting on your dresser?

Take advantage of the extra time you may have on your hands.

Read a book, go out for a walk (while keeping 6 feet from others) or even just sit still.

Take advantage.
