Red White and Blue Ribbons are tied around trees and mailboxes in the town of Atmore.

Mallorie Beachy, owner of The Yellow Garden, said that the ribbons symbolize that the community is praying and thanking all the health care and emergency workers.

“Red, White, and Blue ribbons tied on trees around Atmore are thank yous to the health care and emergency workers on the front line of the COVID-19 crisis,” Beachy said.
Additionally, the trend has been going on since COVID-19 started, but people are still putting up red, white and blue bows on their businesses and trees as a sign of support.

“Basically we are doing ribbons within the community,” Beachy said. “It means you are praying for America at this time. All of the money made from the ribbons will be given back to the community and the essential workers. The proceeds that we raised we put back into the community and healthcare workers.”

It is important that we show our healthcare workers and emergency personnel people who are on the front lines that we appreciate them, Beachy added.
