The Atmore Police and Fire Departments recently installed secondary non-emergency phone lines, according to officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release the newly installed telephone lines were installed due to recent weather-related issues the departments were having with the regular phone system.

The secondardy phone line is a back up line should the primary lines go out.

Brooks said these are non-emergency phone lines. Those who have an emergency need to call 911.
