The Atmore City Council on Monday adopted a resolution clarifying a tax abatement that was granted for Alto Products some two years ago.

The resolution, 2020-10, clarifies a tax abatement that wasn’t specifically identified for a period of 10 years, Mayor Jim Staff said.

On the old resolution, the abatement was for a maximum number of years, and didn’t note 10.

Additionally, Staff was asked by Councilmember Susan Smith if he had any idea when the parks will reopen.

Staff said the parks will reopen when all playground equipment is allowed to be played on by children by a directive from the governor’s office.
