Mrs. Linda Mae Findley, 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in Pensacola, Fla.

Mrs. Findley was a native of Atmore and had resided in Century, Fla. for most of her life.

She was retired from the Escambia County Florida School Board as a bus driver for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Verna Simmons; daughter, Edna Dawn Gafford; and two brothers, Billy Simmons and Clyde Simmons.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Johnny Lee Childress of Century; one son, Jody Douglas Findley of Century; one daughter, Wendy (Keith) Lisenby of Brewton; one brother, David Simmons of Jay, Fla.; two sisters, Brenda (Jerry) Wiggins of McDavid, Fla. and Patsy (Arthur) Harrington of Patterson, La.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Sexton officiating.

Burial followed at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held May 31, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Little Jamie Gafford, Big Jamie Gafford, Hunter Gafford, Ramsey Gafford, Austin Greenwood and Jacob Findley.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
