Ms. Maude Watson Thomas, 82, of Atmore, answered the Master’s Call on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at a west Florida hospice facility in Pensacola, Fla.

A native of Escambia County, Ala., Ms. Thomas was married to the late Anerable Thomas and they lived in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. before relocating back to Atmore.

She worked as a presser in the dry cleaner industry in New York and Alabama. She worked for Johnny’s Cleaners In Flomaton.

She was a missionary at Mt. Hebron Apostolic church in Yonkers, N.Y. and New Regeneration Holiness Church in Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Watson; her son, Joe Michael Thomas; and her brothers, Claude Watson and Floyd Watson.

Those left to cherish memories of her life are two daughters, Deborah Young of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Micesha Thomas of White plains, N.Y.; three sons, Herman Womack of Century, Fla., Edd Watson of Savannah, Ga. and De’quan Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Anise Watson-Smith of Detroit, Mich., Jacqueline Watson of East Norwalk, Conn. and Linda Faye Richardson of Gardenia, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be today, Wed., June 3, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be tomorrow, Thurs., June 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Stallworth Cemetery with Mother Deborah Young officiating with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
