ECHA: 94 reported cases of COVID-19 in county

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced Tuesday there have been 94 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported out of its two hospitals in the county.

The latest numbers reported included an increase of nine cases from June 19.

According to ECHA’s biweekly update, there have been 79 confirmed cases reported at Atmore Community Hospital, and 15 cases at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital.

At ACH, 683 specimens have been collected with 564 negative results, 38 (up 19) pending and two inconclusive.

At DWM, 365 specimens have been collected with 339 negative results, 10 (up seven) pending and one inconclusive.
The ECHA updates these numbers twice a week to reflect current case numbers. Due to the timing of the information, the numbers may differ from the numbers on the Alabama Department of Public Health’s website.

According to the ADPH, there have been 158 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported with 1,940 specimens collected and six confirmed deaths in Escambia County, Ala.

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website, there have been six confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Atmore Nursing Center.
