The Atmore Police Department is looking for information in regard to a string of car break ins, according to officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release that the APD, in the past two weeks, has received numerous complaints of suspects breaking and entering automobiles throughout the city.

“Reports have been taken from the following streets: Old Bratt Road, Woodlawn Avenue, Forrest Hill Drive, South Carney Street, Whippoorwill Drive, Tatum Avenue, Smith Diary Road and Woods Road,” Brooks said. “Vandals are rummaging through unlocked vehicles during the early morning hours and stealing firearms, cash and other personal items. Reports have also been received by victims who found their car doors opened but no property was removed.”
