Brian Linden Joy, 61, of Atmore, passed away on July 2, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1959 in Rochester, N.H. to Stanley G. Joy and the late Dorothy Styron.

He was a friend to many and would do anything to help those he called friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Godwin Joy; and his mother, Dorothy Styron Bowden.

Survivors include his father, Stanley G. Joy of Silverhill; brother, Steven Joy of Atmore; two daughters, Rebecca McKinley of Albany, Ga. and Stefanie Kockx of Woodbridge, Va.; and grandchildren, Parker and Ally.

A graveside memorial service was held on July 11, 2020 at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
