Johnson announces candidacy for District 3 seat

Eunice Johnson announced July 8 her candidacy to run for the District 3 seat of the Atmore City Council.

Johnson was born and raised in Atmore. She is a graduated of Escambia County High School and Reid State Technical College in Evergreen with a concentration in general business.

She is the wife of Charles Johnson, and the mother of six children and a host of grandchildren.

Johnson has been employed at Masland Carpets for more than 13 years.

According to her announcement, Johnson is a person of integrity, and strong moral values. She is a spirital counselor and motivational speaker, and leader in local churches. She is certified in leadership program, and served as the secretary and vice president of SEIU.

Johnson said her vision for District 3 is to implement a strong education program.

“Together, we educate therefore more jobs and revenue will come in the city for a better living,” Johnson said.

Johnson said she wants to help beautify the city, and clean up hazardous non resident houses and weeded properties.

She said she wants to improve roads, and open ditches.

“But most of all, I want to be informative to the peoples’ needs in the community,” she said. “I want to keep them posted on ongoing projects in the city of Atmore.”
