Mr. James Bryars Jr., 71, passed away on Mon., July 20, 2020, at his home in Perdido. 

Mr. Bryars was a native and lifelong resident of the Baldwin County area.

He served as a merchant seaman, was retired from Scott Paper Co. with 32 years of service and was a member of the Splinterhill Pleasant Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, James H. Bryars Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Bryars of Perdido; wife of 51 years, Elsie Bryars of Perdido; one son, James Logan (Summer) Bryars of Wilmer; two daughters, Wanda (Joe) Wilson of Lillian and Crystal (Kenneth) Ryals of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Donnie (Diann) Bryars of Dyas; one sister, Bobbie Cumbie of Perdido; and two grandsons, Brayden and Jack. 

Graveside services were held on July 24, 2020 at the Bryars-McGill Cemetery with Bro. Angelo Thomley and Bro. Larry Peacock officiating.

Pallbearers were Tom King, Hunter Bates, Johnny Ramer, Jimmy Ramer, Joseph Bryars, Daniel Bryars and Marty Hadley. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pilots for Christ-Alabama Chapter (http://pilotsforchrist.com/donation.aspx), the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (donate.lls.org//lls/donate) and the Splinterhill Pleasant Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church. 

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
