Mrs. Naneka Shacole “Yank” McQueen, 41, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of Walnut Hill, Fla., answered the master’s call suddenly on Aug. 26, 2020 in Crestview.

Mrs. McQueen was born in Milwaukee, Wisc. and reared in Walnut Hill.

She attended Northview High School prior to relocating to Crestview, where she met and married her husband, C. L. McQueen Sr.

She was employed as a sales associate team leader with Walmart in Crestview. She had been a member of Walnut Hill COGIC. She enjoyed going to racetrack with her husband and her son’s football game.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Hardaway; stepfather, Eddie Hardaway; brother, Joseph Thames; sister, Venus Ford; her step-sons, Monte and Cornelius McQueen; and a special uncle, Floyd Thames.

Those left to cherish beautiful memories of her life are her husband, C. L. McQueen Sr. of Crestview; four sons, Demarron (Faith) Knotts of Yancey, Texas, C. L. McQueen Jr., Edra (Erica) McQueen, all of Crestview, Donte (Nicole) McQueen of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Kenneth (Tongee) Thames of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one sister, Chiquita Bonita of Foley; and 12 grandchildren.

Graveside service was held on Sept. 1, 2020 at New St. Paul Cemetery in Walnut Hill with Bishop Darryl North officiating and Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
