The Atmore Public Library is holding its pumpkin decorating contest to coincide with this year’s Williams Station Day.

Library Director Hope Lassiter said the contest includes decorating a pumpkin as your favorite children’s book character.

She said pumpkins can be painted, dressed and accessorized, but not carved.

Lassiter said family participation is encouraged, and any size pumpkin is allowed in the contest, which allots one pumpkin per family.

Decorated pumpkins should be dropped off at the APL between Oct. 19-23 as pumpkins will be displayed and judged on Williams Station Day, Sat., Oct. 24.
