According to the FHP, at approximately 9:12 a.m. on Oct. 3, vehicle one, a pickup truck driven by a 16 year old from Molino, Fla., was traveling southbound on State Road 97, south of Tungoil Road.

“Vehicle 1 (pickup truck) entered the northbound lane in an attempt to pass other traffic in a no-passing zone,” Sampson said. “Vehicle 2 (sedan) was attempting to make a left turn into a drive way.”

Sampson said in his narrative that the pickup truck struck the left rear of the sedan with the front of the vehicle.

“All occupants of the vehicle two (sedan) were transported to the hospital as well as a passenger in vehicle one (truck),” he said. “A rear passenger of vehicle two (sedan), a minor child, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.”

According to the FHP, the investigation is on going.
