Escambia County EMA Director David Adams said tonight that Hurricane Delta’s track has made a slight shift to the west from previous statements.

“While this is good news for Escambia County, the possibility is still very real that it can change and have more impact to our area,” Adams said in an email. “This will be a very destructive storm when it makes landfall. It is still important to be prepared for possible changes to the forecast.”

Adams said Gov. Kay Ivey has ordered mandatory evacuations for tourists and vacationers from the barrier islands of Mobile and Baldwin Counties beginning tomorrow morning at 7.
