Coastal Alabama Community College officials recently announced that for the first time a buy one, get one community scholarship program for Spring 2021.

Because of the financial struggles that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, Coastal Alabama Community College is providing free tuition (up to nine credit hours) to students for the spring 2021 semester.

The qualifications are minimal to receive this scholarship. To qualify, students must have a high school diploma or GED; must not already be receiving an institutional scholarship (i.e. athletics, activities, presidential, etc.); and must register for at least six credit hours for the spring 2021 semester
The Community Scholarship program covers tuition for up to an additional nine credit hours. If a student pays for six credit hours (for example an English class and a Public Speaking class), he/she can receive up to six credit hours tuition-free.  If a student pays for seven credit hours (for example a four-hour Biology class and a three-hour History class), he/she can receive up to seven credit hours tuition-free. Students just pay for fees for the total number of hours taken.

The best part about this program is the student does nothing to receive the scholarship as there is no form, process or request, according to a release.

Spring 2021 registration dates
• Nov. 2 for students who have 45+ credit hours.

  • Nov. 3 for students who have 30+ credit hours.
  • Nov. 4 for all students.
  • Registration will remain open through the first day of class in January. The College will close for the holidays beginning December 22 through January 4. However, students are encouraged to register for classes before the December holiday break to ensure classes are available.
