Escambia County held Jackson scoreless through the third quarter, but the visiting Aggies walked away with a 16-6 region victory on the Atmore team’s senior night.

“What a game,” ECHS head football coach Scott Mason said. “What a game.”

Mason said the Aggies scored twice in the fourth. JHS took advantage of a fumbled punt, he said.

“I thought we matched up well with them,” the coach said. “I thought we played well on defense. We shut their passing game down. They had a long pass play. Other than that, they didn’t do anything.”

Mason said he was pleased with how the boys ran the ball, and their overall play is encouraging as the Blue Devils visit Flomaton to close out the season.

“We have gotten better every week,” he said. “Every week we’ve gotten better. If were an old team like this bunch here, they’re full of seniors. We don’t have kids right now. Between COVID and graduation, we don’t have them.

“But, we’re going to beat somebody’s butt before this is over with,” he said.
