ECHA: 867 COVID-19 cases reported from hospitals

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority released the latest COVID-19 update from both of its hospitals today.
According to a release, there have been 608 confirmed positive cases reported from Atmore Community Hospital, and 259 from D.W. McMillan Memorial.
A total of 2,971 specimens have been collected at ACH with 2,311 negative results, nine pending and 43 inconclusive.
A total of 1,410 specimens have been collected at DWM with 1,118 negative results, seven pending and 26 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, there have been 1,817 confirmed cases in Escambia County, 450 specimens were collected in the last 14 days and 31 confirmed patient deaths.
On Nov. 5, Gov. Kay Ivey announced the extension of the current safer at home (mask) order, which ends on Dec. 11, at 5 p.m.
The only things that are new include occupancy rates and use of partitions.
According to a release, the emergency occupancy rates will be removed for retailers, gyms and fitness centers, along with entertainment venues.
An exception to social-distancing rules will be allowed for many businesses, including barber shops, hair salons, gyms and restaurants if people are wearing masks and separated by an impermeable barrier.
