NWE’s sophomores (8U) football team finished 1-2 during the 2020 National Turkey Bowl in Pensacola, Fla. Nov. 27-29.

The sophomores defeated Macon, Ga. 14-6 on Nov. 27; and lost 12-6 to Douglasville, Ga. on Saturday, and fell 12-0 to the Mobile Gators on Sunday., Gla. on Saturday.

These losses signified the end to a spotless regular season and playoff run for the sophomores.

During the 2020 season, the sophomores defeated Pensacola, Andalusia (2), Straughn, Brewton (2), Baker, Jay (2) and Cantonment.

On Nov. 21, the sophomores defeated Brewton 25-14 to win the 2020 ERC Championship.
