Area residents got started on their holiday shopping tonight during the annual Jingle Bell Walk and Santa in the Alley event tonight in downtown Atmore.
Various downtown businesses stayed open a little later than normal, welcoming customers in and showcasing holiday-themed delights.
Santa was present in the alley next to The Junky Pearl and the youth group choir of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church sang Christmas carols at various spots throughout the evening.
