Mrs. Mable McGhee Jackson, 94, passed away on Tues., Dec. 15, 2020 at her home in Atmore.

Mrs. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and great-great-great grandmother. She was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians, Poarch Community Church and was a devoted Christian. She retired from Best Westerns Motels as a supervisor with 20 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Margie McGhee; husband of 60 years, Alton Jackson; son, Larry Jackson; and grandson, Alton Sells.

She is survived by her three sons, Ronnie (Debbie) Jackson of Atmore, Don (Marshann) Jackson of Brewton and Eddie “Dinky” Jackson of Atmore; one daughter, Catherine (Garvis) Sells of Atmore; one sister, Martha “Sister” Jackson of Poarch; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; numerous great-great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at the Judson Indian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today, Thurs., Dec. 17, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chance Jackson, Casey Jackson, Winston Barron, Christopher Fay, Thunder Jackson and Kaiden McGhee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Jackson, Scott Jackson, Keith Martin, Dewitt Carter, Paul Garner and Peewee.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Martin Home Care, especially Patricia McCaster.
