Mr. Wallace Claude Longmire, 71, of Atmore, entered into his heavenly mansion on Wed., Jan. 13, 2021, at Atmore Community Hospital.

A native of Vredenburg, Mr. Longmire was a 1969 graduate of Escambia County Training School. He was a faithful member of Gaines Chapel AME Church – Atmore. He worked as a welder at a railroad boxcar company in Brewton. He was a big Auburn and Pittsburgh fan and he enjoyed watching CNN.

Those left to cherish fond memories of his life are his devoted wife, Shirley Ann Porter Longmire; two daughters, LaDana Catrice Longmire and Kelly Elizabeth Longmire Pleasant, all of Atmore; two sisters, Alice Sanders of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Pearl Radcliffe of Grapevine, Texas; two granddaughters; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held this Sat., Jan. 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Cleitus Walker, pastor of Gaines Chapel AME Church, officiating. Public viewing will be this Fri., Jan. 22, from 2-5 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel. Facial mask and social distancing will be required.
