Escambia County defeated Vigor 53-48 in area action Tuesday night.

With the win, the Blue Devils improve to 5-2 in Class 4A, Area 1 and secured the No. 2 seed for the area tournament. ECHS will host the semifinals on Feb. 10.

Sheldon Williams led ECHS with a double double 20 points and 12 rebounds. He also had two assists, one steal and six blocks.

Kaiden Arnold contributed in the win over Vigor with 11 points, seven rebounds, a steal, an assist, a block and a charge. Hakeem Johnson added eight points and three rebounds, and Jacob Dirden had five points.

The Blue Devils visit Mary Montgomery tomorrow night in regular-season action, and host Baldwin County on Friday.
