Cougars win Lowndes Invitational

Escambia Academy defeated Lighthouse Christian Academy 9-3 in varsity baseball action Monday afternoon.
The early-week win comes a couple days after the Cougars won the Lowndes Academy Invitational Tournament March 4-6.
In the tournament, the Cougars went a spotless 4-0, defeating Autauga Academy 7-6 in the championship.
EA’s Parker Robinson was the tournament most valuable player. Robinson went 1-0 on the mound with a save in the title game.
Additionally, Robinson hit .601 (batting average) with four RBIs.
EA coach Mike Sims said JJ Stevens went 1-0 while striking out seven and allowing two hits and one run during his outing on the rubber.
Sims said Christian Crook and Caleb Davis played well over the weekend.
Crook hit .412 with five stolen bases and Davis hit .428 with four RBIs. Davis also got a win on the mound, striking out five while allowing one hit.
Sims said Steven won game one against Ezekiel; Davis won game two against Autauga; Robinson won game three against Lowndes; and Jacob Lee won the championship game.
Crook also made the all tournament team.
In junior varsity action Monday, the Cougars won 9-4.
