Mr. Charles McDowell was born on July 5, 1944 to the proud parents of Mr. Till McDowell Sr. and Willie Mae McDowell in Atmore. He peacefully transitioned from time to eternity on March 17, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Till and Willie Mae McDowell Sr.; sister, Jessie Mae Price; and brothers, Willie Earl McDowell and David Lee McDowell.

Those who will continue his legacy and forever cherish his loving memories are a loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Willie Mae McDowell; loving daughters, Christine (Jeff) McDowell, Shirley (Rodney) McDowell, Marilyn (Mike) McDowell-Moultrie, Charlene (Willie Patterson) McDowell and Clarice McDowell; godson, Timothy Dortch; one sister, Lena Mae McDowell; one brother, Till McDowell; grandchildren, Marcus, Willie, Deanse, Patrice, Jarrode, Chrystal, Nate, Charles, Jeremy, Carter, Steven, Nathaniel, Valarie and Corie; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be held on March 26, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Mayberry Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore. The funeral service will be held March 27 at 2 p.m. at New Order Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Sidney Grant Jr. as pastor and officiant.
