COVID-19: ECHA reports 7 new cases since April 23 report

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced April 27 that 1,602 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest number is an increase of seven cases since the April 23 report.
According to a release, 964 (plus two) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 638 (plus five) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,638 specimens have been collected, 3,626 have been negative with zero pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 4,065 specimens have been collected with 3,395 negative results, one pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,920 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 1,065 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Seventy-five people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
