Eva Karen McInnis née Tew, 63, passed away on April 20, 2021, in her hometown in Brewton. Born Oct. 2, 1957 (Brewton), she attended T.R. Miller High School. She went on to study at University of Mobile where she majored in Elementary Education, and in May 1997, she graduated from Faulkner University, Montgomery, where she was awarded a bachelor’s degree.

Eva was beautifully vivacious and caught the eye of anyone near. She had an eclectic sense of humor, and was a free spirit, unapologetically. Her family will remember her effervescent, sparkling light and her profound ability to love. Eva spent her the last years of her life devotedly serving as her mother’s caregiver.

Eva is survived by her adored daughter, Ava (Brian) Moore née Gunaca; her grandchildren, Daniel, Alicia, Micah, Noah and Jonah; her mother, Sammie McGlothern née Hoomes; her siblings, Vicki (Terry) Wilcox, Stephanie (Robert) Spicer, Paul (Rob) Shelley and Toddy (Roger) Milstead; her loyal dog, Rodham (a mixed-breed); 11 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives. She is predeceased by her father, Raymond Grace Tew Jr.; her former spouse, Rick Gunaca; and her niece, Jennifer VanAusdal.
