ECHA: 3 additional cases of COVID since June 1 report

Latest report includes one death

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced today that 1,630 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.

The latest number is an increase of three cases since the June 1 report.

According to a release, 974 (plus one) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 656 (plus two) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.

At ACH, 4,785 specimens have been collected, 3,763 have been negative with one pending and 48 inconclusive.

At DWM, 4,331 specimens have been collected with 3,637 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,987 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 713 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.

Seventy-eight people have died in the county.

The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.

Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
