A Pace, Fla. woman was arrested June 12 on drug trafficking and paraphernalia charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Chief Chuck Brooks said at around 3 a.m. last Saturday, a vehicle was spotted with an expired Florida temporary tag.

“The officer pulled the vehicle over and made contact with the driver,” Brooks said. “He noted the passenger was extremely nervous. After getting consent to search the vehicle, (the officer) found 15 small empty baggies with a large crystal rock that field tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Brooks said the rock came out at 27.9 grams.

“The officers continued to search the vehicle, and found 100 baggies along with four small baggies containing the same crystal substance,” he said.

Brooks added that some glass pipes, which are commonly used to smuggle methamphetamine, were found as well.

The passenger, Kristina E. Saxon, 33, of Pace, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s jail log.

Brooks said the traffic stop was issued on Highway 21 north by the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel.

The driver was released, he said.
