Escambia County EMA Director David Adams said tonight that the forecast rainfall totals have increased some, but overall totals for the county have remained fairly steady.

“We should see most of local impacts through the night tonight and during the day Saturday,” Adams said. “Some rainfall may linger after the gusty winds have ended. Flash flooding may be present in some areas with poor drainage.”

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for coastal Alabama areas of the western Florida panhandle. There is a potential for minimal tropical storm force winds, mainly of gusts of 40-50 miles per hour along the coast, according to the National Weather Service.
