West Escambia Utilities announced today four (S.S.O.’s) Sanitary Sewer Overflows due to the wastewater system being backed up from excessive rainfall on June 22, 2021.

The overflows are at the following locations:

1. Intersection of Wilson Ave. and Ridgley St.
2. Manhole at Jerry’s Alignment and Lube.
3. Manhole just north of Martin Luther King lift station. No longer overflowing as of June 22, 2021 at 9:40 a.m.
4. Manhole at 173 Martin Luther King.

The public is advised to avoid these areas if possible until overflows have stopped and been disinfected, EU officials said.
